Election season is (finally) over, and I'm grateful for all the support my campaign received this year. I'll be back for a third term as commissioner of ANC 1C03! And more importantly, I've been very encouraged by all the community discussions I had in recent weeks. If we haven't chatted in a while, please get in touch so we can catch up (or get to know each other)!
I'd also like to send gratitude to everyone who has patiently sent feedback on the multiple projects currently affecting Adams Morgan. There's always more work ahead, but having neighbors who are both informed and disciplined makes it much easier to advocate for positive change in DC. Thank you!
Now let's review November 2024, glance toward December 2024, meet our organization + business in focus, and see this month's video briefing.
WHAT WE DID
Passed a resolution (7-0) with suggestions for the future of streateries in Adams Morgan and DC
Changed (7-0) ANC 1C's mailing address from a PO Box to a shared address with the Festival Center
Because ANC 1C receives so little printed mail, this will help eliminate the expense of a PO Box that was rarely used
Testified in support of legislation aimed to reduce the number of vacant and blighted properties in DC
WMATA made adjustments to their proposed Better Bus network changes
ANC 1C advocated for some of these changes, which would maintain some much needed bus service from Adams Morgan to the State Department/Kennedy Center and to the Woodley Park Metro station
New public compost locations are being installed at Unity Park on Columbia Road and Harris Teeter on Kalorama Road
WHAT'S UP NEXT
December 4: ANC 1C general meeting (agenda here, link to attend here)
Ongoing: I am organizing with residents and commissioners regarding issues at residential properties controlled by UIP Property Management
If you've had problems while living in a UIP property and we haven't already spoken, please send me a message
